Behind every uniform is a human being carrying the weight of trauma, loss, and sacrifice. Studies show that nearly 30% of first responders develop behavioral health conditions such as PTSD and depression, compared to 20% in the general population.
Suicide rates among police officers and firefighters are tragically higher than the line-of-duty deaths they face. Families, too, shoulder a heavy burden — often without access to culturally competent care.
